Peanut-Sitting Pretties

• 1/2 c. butter or margarine
• 1/4 c. firmly packed brown sugar
• 1 egg, separated
• 1/2 tsp. vanilla
• 1 c. all-purpose flour
• 1/4 tsp. salt
• finely chopped nuts
• 1 can vanilla creamy-type frosting
• M&M's peanut chocolate candies

1. Blend butter or margarine and sugar in a bowl.
2. Stir in egg yolk and vanilla.
3. Stir flour and salt into bowl; mix well.
4. Chill 1 hour.
5. Roll into 1-inch balls.
6. Dip into slightly beaten egg white.
7. Roll in nuts.
8. Place 1-inch apart on cookie sheet.
9. Bake in moderate oven (350u0b0) for 5 minutes.
10. Press thumb gently in center of each.
11. Bake 5 minutes longer.
12. Cool.
13. Fill with frosting.
14. Garnish with M&M's peanut chocolate candies.
15. Makes about 8 dozen cookies.
