Kielbasa and Kraut (Slow Cooker)
- 1 Tablespoon Butter
- 1 Red Onion, Sliced Thinly
- 1/4 cups Brown Sugar
- 1 whole Apple, Peeled, Cored, And Thinly Sliced
- 1 can (15 Oz. Size) Bavarian Sauerkraut
- Salt And Pepper, to taste
- 2 packages (13 1/2 Oz. Size) Turkey Kielbasa Links
- 1/2 cups Maple Syrup
- In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat.
- Saute onion, sprinkle with some salt.
- Continue sauteing until clear, then add the brown sugar.
- Cook another 10 minutes until the onions are caramelized.
- Add the apple, cook for 3 minutes, then add the sauerkraut.
- Season with salt and pepper.
- Mix all together then add to slow cooker.
- In the same pan, brown kielbasa links until they have nice little scorch marks on them.
- Place the links on top of the Kielbasa in the slow cooker.
- Pour maple syrup over the top.
- Cook on low 6 to 8 hours or on high for 4 hours.
