Double Chocolate Brownies
- 1 1/2 c. unsifted flour
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2/3 c. butter
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 4 Tbsp. water
- 2 (12 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet morsels
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 4 eggs
- 1 c. chopped nuts (optional)
- Preheat oven to 325u0b0.
- In a small bowl, combine flour, baking soda and salt; set aside.
- In a small saucepan, combine butter, sugar and water.
- Bring just to a boil, then remove from heat. Add 1 package semi-sweet morsels and vanilla.
- Stir until morsels melt and mixture is smooth.
- Transfer to a large bowl.
- Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Gradually blend in flour mixture.
- Stir in remaining package of morsels and nuts (optional).
- Spread into greased 9 x 13-inch baking pan.
- Bake 50 to 60 minutes.
- Cool completely before cutting.
