Mom's Bran Muffins

  1. Pour 2 cups water over 2 cups bran cereal.
  2. Set aside.
  3. Cream 2 1/4 cups sugar and 1 cup crisco.
  4. Add 4 eggs, 1 quart of buttermilk and wet bran mixture.
  5. Add 5 cups flour, 1 tbl salt, 5 tsp baking soda.
  6. Mix well and then add remaining bran.
  7. Bake at 375 for 18-20 minutes.
  8. Can be strored in fridge for up to one month.
