Southern Barbecued Pork Spareribs

  1. Combine all ingredients except ribs in a saucepan and boil for five minutes.
  2. Cool; place ribs in a shallow baking dish and pour marinade over all.
  3. Marinate 2 hours at room temperature or overnight in the fridge.
  4. Drain, reserving remaining marinade. Place ribs (rib end down) on grill 6 to 8 inches over grey-white coals.
  5. Grill 45 minutes.
  6. Baste.
  7. Grill another 15 minutes, basting often with marinade.
  8. Yields 4 servings.
