Choc-O-Date Dessert

• 1/2 pkg. cream filled chocolate cookies, crushed
• 1 (8 oz.) pkg. pitted dates, cut up
• 3/4 c. water
• 1/2 c. chopped nuts
• 1/2 tsp. vanilla
• 2 c. tiny marshmallows or 16 large
• 1/4 tsp. salt
• 1 c. heavy cream
• walnut halves

1. Reserve 1/4
2. cup
3. cookie crumbs.
4. Spread remainder in a 10 x 6 1/2-inch pan.
5. In a saucepan, combine dates, water and salt; bring to
6. a boil and simmer for 3 minutes.temove from heat; add marshmallows
7. and
8. stir until melted.
9. Cool to lukewarm.
10. Stir in nuts and spread over crumbs in pan.
11. Whip cream and
12. vanilla. Swirl
13. over
14. dates.
15. Sprinkle
16. with
17. reserved crumbs.
18. Top
19. with walnut
20. halves.
21. Chill
22. overnight,tut in squares and serve.
