Mamas Chess Pie

  1. Cut butter into dry ingredients.
  2. Slowly add ice water.
  3. Knead dough and roll out on dough board, or press into bottom and sides of a 9-inch pie plate.
  4. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  5. Cream butter and sugar; add egg yolks, vanilla, and cream.
  6. Gently blend in cornmeal.
  7. Pour into chess pie pastry.
  8. Bake until light brown on top, about 35 to 45 minutes.
