Green Beans With Bacon
- 1 lb. (4 c.) fresh snap beans, cut into 1-inch pieces, or 2 pkg. (10 oz. each) frozen cut beans, slightly thawed
- 2/3 c. long grain rice
- 1 1/3 c. water
- 3/4 tsp. salt
- 6 slices bacon
- 1 Tbsp. butter or margarine
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. ground black pepper
- 1/3 c. chopped onion
- 1/3 c. water
- 1 c. sour cream
- 1 tsp. dried dill weed (optional)
- dash of salt
- 2 tsp. lemon juice
- 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
- Wash, trim and cut fresh beans.
- Measure 4 cups and set aside. Combine rice, 1 1/3 cups water and 3/4 teaspoon salt in saucepan. Bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat.
- Cover and simmer 15 minutes, or until rice has absorbed the water.
