Fried Bread With a Twist

  1. In a pan heat the butter and oil.
  2. Add the onions and salt and fry for 2-4 minutes until the onion has softened.
  3. Once fried set to one side until ready to use.
  4. Cut the crusts of the bread, then using a rolling pin, flatten the sliced bread as much as you can.
  5. Using the fat from the onions, brush the bread slices.
  6. Using your favourite cheese add to bread
  7. Then add the onions on tip of cheese
  8. Roll it carefully so it doesn't break.
  9. Use toothpicks to hold it all together.
  10. Then on the outside brush the oil from the onion.
  11. Add 4 tablespoons of oil to a frying pan and heat.
  12. Add the bread in and fry for about 3-5 minutes on low heat or until it is golden brown.
  13. Turn a few times.
  14. Once done remove from pan and place on kitchen roll to absorb some of the fat.
  15. Serve immediately.
