Cabbage Rolls

  1. Cover cabbage leaves with boiling water and let stand until limp.
  2. Drain.
  3. Combine beef, salt, pepper, rice, onion, egg and seasonings.
  4. Place a portion of meat mixture in a cabbage leaf, roll and secure with toothpicks.
  5. Brown in Crisco oil.
  6. Combine sugar, water, lemon juice and tomato sauce; pour over rolls. Cover and simmer 1 hour.
  7. Baste now and then.
