Danish Kringle

  1. Dissolve
  2. yeast in water.
  3. Mix flour, shortening, sugar and salt
  4. as
  5. pie
  6. crust.
  7. Beat
  8. yolks and add warm milk.
  9. Add yeast, egg
  10. and
  11. milk
  12. to flour mixture and beat well.
  13. Cover. Place
  14. in refrigerator overnight.
  15. In morning, divide dough in 3 parts. Roll
  16. into
  17. thin strips, about 10 inches wide and 20 inches long. Spread
  18. with
  19. beaten
  20. egg whites, layer of brown sugar and fruit. Fold over, lengthwise, and seal edges.
  21. Bake about 20
  22. minutes
  23. in medium
  24. hot
  25. oven about 375u0b0.
  26. Ice with powdered
  27. sugar
  28. frosting while hot.
  29. Spread with chopped nuts or a bit of brown sugar.
