Biscuit Bows

  1. Preheat oven to 180C Line a baking tray with baking paper.
  2. Combine flour, custard powder, icing sugar, lemon rind and butter in a food processor.
  3. Process until mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs.
  4. Add egg yolk and 1 tablespoon of cold water.
  5. Process until dough comes together, adding an extra tablespoon of water if necessary.
  6. Turn onto a lightly-floured surface.
  7. Knead until just smooth.
  8. Roll dough out to 3mm thickness.
  9. Cut into 14cm x 1cm lengths.
  10. Twist into bow shapes, brushing with a little water at join.
  11. Place on prepared tray.
  12. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until light golden.
  13. Remove to a wire rack to cool.
  14. Dust with icing sugar.
  15. Serve.
