Homemade Fish shaped Appetizer

  1. Sift the flour.
  2. Place the flour and salt in a large bowl.
  3. Mix.
  4. Rub the butter into the flour with your fingertips until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs.
  5. Next add approximately 1/2 of the egg yolk and the water.
  6. Mix well your hands.
  7. Try to work quickly.
  8. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and chill for 10 -15 minutes.
  9. Now take the chilled dough and roll out into a 12 inch square that is about 18 inch thick, using a rolling pin.
  10. Draw a fish shape on a paper and cut it out.
  11. fish 6 x 4 inchPlace the fish on the dough and cut it out with a sharp knife.
  12. Place it greased baking pan.
  13. (use butter or coking spray to grease the pan).
  14. In a pan heat 1/2 table spoon olive oil over medium high heat, add garlic and mix until slightly softened.
  15. Next add onion, salmon, and prepared (or leftover) mashed potatoes.
  16. Mix until onion is softened and everything is heated through.
  17. Add pepper and salt.
  18. Mix well.
  19. This recipe will have enough dough and filling to make 4 number of fish.
  20. Place your prepared filling in the pastry a FishaTM.
  21. Brush the edges of the pastry with some egg wash then place additional pastry a FishaTM over the top and press down to seal.
  22. After that, you can decorate the fish with eye, mouth and scales.

  24. You can use scraps of the dough and cut out small rounds and then layer them like a fish's scales.
  25. Brush the egg on top of the pastry.
  26. The scales mouth and eye were made out of pastry dough.
  27. You can do this with the extra scraps of dough if you want.
  28. Bake about 20 minutes at 200 cup degrees or until the crust is golden brown.
  29. Serve and enjoy.
