Hamburger Upside Down
- 2 1/2 c. elbow macaroni (about 3/4 lb.)
- 3 Tbsp. butter or margarine
- 1/2 c. minced onion
- 2 tsp. minced garlic
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 1/4 tsp. oregano
- 1 (8 oz.) pkg. Cheddar cheese, grated
- 3 eggs, beaten
- 3/4 c. milk
- Cook elbows until tender.
- In skillet, melt butter.
- Saute onion and garlic until tender.
- Add beef and cook, stirring, until brown.
- Drain and stir in tomato sauce, salt, pepper and oregano. Simmer 5 minutes.
- Spread beef mixture into bottom of greased 2-quart casserole.
- Toss cooked elbows with grated cheese. Arrange on top of meat mixture and pack down.
- Combine eggs and milk; pour over elbows.
- Bake at 350u0b0 for 1 hour.
