Pickled Onions
- 1 14 cups red wine vinegar
- 6 tablespoons sugar
- 12 teaspoon fennel seed
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 pinch red pepper flakes
- 12 teaspoon salt
- 2 red onions, sliced
- In a saucepan, bring to a boil red wine vinegar, sugar, fennel seeds, bay leaf, red pepper flakes and salt.
- Add sliced onions and simmer 1 minute; let cool.
