Whole- Wheat Spaghetti With Lighter Pesto

  1. in a large pot of boiling salted water, cook 8 ounces whole-wheat spaghetti until al dente, according to package directions.
  2. Reserve 1/2 cup pasta water; drain pasta, return to pot.
  3. Toss pasta with 1 recipe of lighter pesto, adding reserved pasta water a little at a time to create thin sauce that coats spaghetti.
  4. Season with salt and pepper.
  5. Serve with shredded basil if desired.
