Ginger Crinkles

  1. Sift flour, soda, salt and spices; set aside.
  2. In a large bowl, use electric mixer at medium speed and gradually add 1 cup sugar to the shortening, creaming until light and fluffy.
  3. Blend in molasses and eggs.
  4. At low speed, beat in flour mixture until combined. Refrigerate 1 hour.
  5. Shape dough into 1-inch balls; roll in remaining 1/3 cup sugar.
  6. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets.
  7. Bake in 350u0b0 oven for 8 to 10 minutes, until golden brown. Let cool 1 minute before removing to wire rack to cool.
