Fresh Strawberry Topping / Sauce, ( Great to freeze for summer berry taste all year )
- 4 cup fresh ripe strawberries, washed, dryed, stems removed and rough chopped. I half the smallest ones and large chop the big ones
- 2/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1 dash 1/8 teaspoon sea salt, fine grained
- Combine strawberries, sugar and salt in a large bowl, mix gently but thoughly.
- Let sit at room temperature 30 to 40 minutes to develop the sauce to form.
- At this point you can use it or pack it in containers and freeze up to a year.
- Keep the unfrozen sauce chilled after it forms its sauce.
- This makes a wonderful sauce for ice cream, cakes, folded into whipped cream.
- Great on waffles and pancakes.
- Added to drinks.
- So many possibilitys!
