Pretzel Dessert
- 3/4 c. softened butter or margarine
- 3 Tbsp. sugar
- 2 3/4 c. crushed pretzels (not too fine)
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 (8 oz) pkg. softened cream cheese
- 1 (4 oz.) whipped topping
- 2 c. boiling water
- 2 (3 oz.) pkg. strawberry flavored gelatin
- 1 (16 oz.) pkg. frozen sliced strawberries
- In medium bowl, cream together margarine and 3 tablespoons sugar.
- Add pretzels.
- Press in a 9 x 13-inch pan and bake for 10 minutes in preheated oven at 350u0b0.
- Cool.
- In medium mixing bowl, beat together 1 cup sugar and cream cheese.
- Fold in whipped topping.
- Spread over cooled pretzel crust.
- Chill.
- Pour boiling water over strawberry gelatin.
- Stir to dissolve.
- Add frozen strawberries and stir until thawed.
- Chill until gelatin is slightly thickened.
- Spoon gelatin over cream cheese layer.
- Chill until set.
- Cut into squares and serve.
- Garnish with additional whip cream, if desired.
