Chocolate Covered Cherries

  1. Drain cherries.
  2. Mix milk, margarine and vanilla.
  3. Add sugar, a small amount at a time, blending well until all sugar is used. Add nuts to mixture.
  4. (I use my hands to blend nuts, mixture becomes very stiff dough.)
  5. Pinch off enough mixture to make a small ball around 1 cherry.
  6. Continue until mixture is used. Place on wax paper.
  7. Let stand 1 hour.
  8. In double boiler, melt chocolate and paraffin.
  9. Dip each piece of candy in chocolate mixture until covered. Place on wax paper to set.
  10. Do not have chocolate mixture too hot.
  11. Makes 40 to 50 pieces.
  12. Keeps well.
