Snow White Buttercream Frosting Recipe

  1. Combine water and the meringue powder in a large bowl.
  2. Whip on high speed until stiff peaks form.
  3. Add in 4 c. of the confectioners' sugar 1 c. at a time.
  4. Mix on low speed.
  5. Alternately add in shortening and remaining confectioners' sugar.
  6. Add in salt and flavorings.
  7. Beat on low speed till smooth.
  8. May be stored well covered in refrigerator for several weeks.
  9. Bring to room temperature before using.
  10. Makes 8 c..
  11. Recipe may be cut in 1/2 or doubled.
