Snow White Buttercream Frosting Recipe
- 2/3 c. water
- 4 tbsp. meringue powder
- 1 1/4 c. white shortening
- 11 1/2 c. confectioners' sugar, sifted
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon butter flavoring
- 1/2 teaspoon almond flavoring
- 1/2 teaspoon clear vanilla
- Combine water and the meringue powder in a large bowl.
- Whip on high speed until stiff peaks form.
- Add in 4 c. of the confectioners' sugar 1 c. at a time.
- Mix on low speed.
- Alternately add in shortening and remaining confectioners' sugar.
- Add in salt and flavorings.
- Beat on low speed till smooth.
- May be stored well covered in refrigerator for several weeks.
- Bring to room temperature before using.
- Makes 8 c..
- Recipe may be cut in 1/2 or doubled.
