Caramel Filled Chocolate Bars Recipe

  1. Heat caramels and 1/3 c. evaporated lowfat milk over warm water or possibly in microwave, stirring every thirty seconds.
  2. Keep hot.
  3. Mix the cake mix, margarine and 1/3 c. evaporated lowfat milk and beat well.
  4. Spread 1/2 the batter in a greased 9x13 inch pan.
  5. Bake for 6 min at 350 degrees.
  6. Cold about 2 min.
  7. Spread caramel mix over baked layer and sprinkle with chocolate chips.
  8. Stir 1/2 c. nuts into remaining 1/2 of batter and drop by half teaspoonsful over top.
  9. Sprinkle with remaining 1/2 c. nuts.
  10. Return to oven and bake for 18 min at 350 degrees.
  11. Cold in pan and cut into 1 1/2 inch squares.
