Cognac Julep Cocktail

  1. Put sugar in a tall Collins glass, add water and stir until sugar has dissolved.
  2. Add 6 fresh mint leaves, pressing them lightly with a muddler.
  3. Fill the glass with finely-cracked ice.
  4. Add Pierre Ferrand Ambre Cognac and stir well.
  5. Add additional ice to fill glass.
  6. Float Plantation rum on top.
  7. Insert 3 or 4 sprigs of mint and a straw.
  8. Then smile.
