French Country Inn Caramel-Apple Pie
- 1 ready-to-use refrigerated pie crust (1/2 of 14.1-oz. pkg.)
- 20 KRAFT Caramels
- 1 cup plus 2 Tbsp. half-and-half, divided
- 1-1/2 cups PLANTERS Slivered Almonds
- 1/4 cup flour
- 3 eggs
- 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 3 Granny Smith apples (1-1/2 lb.), peeled, sliced
- Heat oven to 375 degrees F.
- Prepare crust in 9-inch pie plate as directed on package for one-crust filled pie.
- Microwave caramels and 2 Tbsp.
- half-and-half in microwaveable bowl on HIGH 2 min.
- or until caramels are completely melted, stirring after each minute.
- Process nuts and flour in food processor until nuts are finely ground.
- Add caramel sauce; pulse just until blended.
- Add eggs, cinnamon, vanilla and remaining half-and-half; pulse just until blended.
- Place apples in crust; cover with caramel mixture.
- Bake 45 to 50 min.
- or until pie filling is slightly puffed and crust is golden brown.
- Cool.
