Holiday Pumpkin Bread Recipe
- 1/3 c. vegetable shortening
- 1/2 c. molasses
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 c. canned pumpkin
- 2 Large eggs
- 2 c. all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking pwdr
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 c. nuts, coarsely minced
- 2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spices
- Cream shortening and stir in sugar and Large eggs.
- Stir in molasses and pumpkin.
- Stir in remaining ingredients.
- Beat till well blended.
- Pour mix into a well greased 9 x 5 x 3 inch loaf pan.
- Arrange 6 whole half nuts on top of loaf as extra decoration.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour or possibly till done.
- Unmold and cold.
- Cut in thin slices; spread with butter or possibly cream cheese.
