Apple Pie in a Skillet
- 1 12 cups flour
- 12 cup butter
- 14 cup cold water
- 4 large baking apples
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 4 tablespoons sugar
- 4 teaspoons cinnamon
- 14 cup butter, melted
- 4 tablespoons sugar
- 4 teaspoons cinnamon
- In a food processor, blend the 1 1/2 cups flour and 1 stick of butter until blended well.
- Slowly mix in the 1/4 cup cold water until a ball forms.
- Add a teaspoon of extra water if needed.
- Divide ball in to four balls and set covered in refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
- With an apple slicer, slice apples and cut off peeling; set aside.
- Roll out pie dough (10-inch circle) and put on small (6-inch) cast iron skillet dusted with flour.
- Repeat until all four skillets have pie dough.
- Fill each pie dough with one apple (sliced and peeled), top apple with 1 tablespoon butter, sprinkle with 1 tablespoon sugar and finish by sprinkling with 1 teaspoon cinnamon.
- Take pie crust and bring into the middle of the pie (it will look like a basket).
- Repeat until all pies have been finished.
- Melt 1/4 cup butter and pour equal amounts over the pie tops.
- Sprinkle each pie with 1 tablespoon sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon.
- Bake in 375F oven for 50 to 60 minutes, until golden brown.
