Apple Pie in a Skillet

  1. In a food processor, blend the 1 1/2 cups flour and 1 stick of butter until blended well.
  2. Slowly mix in the 1/4 cup cold water until a ball forms.
  3. Add a teaspoon of extra water if needed.
  4. Divide ball in to four balls and set covered in refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
  5. With an apple slicer, slice apples and cut off peeling; set aside.
  6. Roll out pie dough (10-inch circle) and put on small (6-inch) cast iron skillet dusted with flour.
  7. Repeat until all four skillets have pie dough.
  8. Fill each pie dough with one apple (sliced and peeled), top apple with 1 tablespoon butter, sprinkle with 1 tablespoon sugar and finish by sprinkling with 1 teaspoon cinnamon.
  9. Take pie crust and bring into the middle of the pie (it will look like a basket).
  10. Repeat until all pies have been finished.
  11. Melt 1/4 cup butter and pour equal amounts over the pie tops.
  12. Sprinkle each pie with 1 tablespoon sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon.
  13. Bake in 375F oven for 50 to 60 minutes, until golden brown.
