Shortcake Biscuits Recipe
- 2 c. flour
- 2 teaspoon baking pwdr
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1 egg plus lowfat milk to make 2/3 c.
- Sift dry ingredients.
- Cut in shortening with pastry blender.
- Beat egg and add in lowfat milk to 2/3 c.. Stir lightly into flour mix.
- Drop by Tbsp.
- onto 8 x 8 inch pan, making 9 biscuits.
- Bake at 375 degrees for 20 to 25 min.
- Cut apart and remove from pan.
- Cold on rack.
- Split and serve with sliced strawberries or possibly peaches.
- Top with whipped cream.
