- 1 large pan cornbread
- 3 slices bread
- 3 or 4 saltines, crumbled
- 3 stalks celery, chopped
- onion, chopped
- salt and pepper to taste
- 12 boiled, chopped eggs
- a little sage
- 1 pkg. chicken gizzards, cooked and chopped
- 1 pkg. seasoned bread crumbs
- 1 can cream of chicken soup
- 4 or 5 chicken livers, cooked and chopped
- Mix well all ingredients.
- Put plenty of stock in mixture. Taste until it suits your taste.
- When the dressing is in the pan, drizzle a little bacon grease on top.
- You have to keep tasting all along to make sure it's seasoned right.
- Don't forget to cut up the chicken and put it in the mixture.
- If you would like, you could saute the celery and onion until they are tender, then it won't take as long to cook.
