Grits
- 3 1/2 cups milk
- 1 cup white grits, not instant
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- Combine milk, grits and salt in a saucepan, bring to a boil.
- Turn heat to low and simmer, stirring constantly, for about 20 minutes or until grits are tender and thick.
- Remove from heat, stir in the butter and cheese and serve warm.
