Brown Rice Apple Crisp Recipe

  1. *Fresh apples are better!
  2. Peel and slice 6 large cooking apples mix with 1 c. of sugar 1/4 c. of water and microwave on high approximately 10 minutes or possibly till soft.
  3. Combine the cooked rice the apples, lemon juice, rice syrup and pour into a 9 x 13" pan treated with non-stick oil spray or possibly margarine.
  4. Mix flour oats brown sugar salt and cut in margarine till crumbly.
  5. Sprinkle over rice-apple mix.
  6. Bake at 350 for 30 min or possibly till brown and bubbly.
  7. weekend brunch nibble.
  8. Tested with Fleischmann's; with Cannot Believe
  9. (lite).
  10. Lundberg Family Farm produces a nutty (high fiber, organic) brown rice blend.
  11. This dessert/brunch recipe has a lot going for it.
  12. I mean, i like the taste and the crunchiness: I want to eat more of it!
  13. But it's a bit on the high calorie side.
  14. I'm just not wild about using the reduced-fat margarines (kinda watery).
