Victorian Shrimp Creole Recipe
- 1 pound frzn shelled shrimp
- 1/3 c. butter
- 1/4 c. flour
- 1 c. warm water
- 1/2 c. minced green onions
- 4 cloves garlic, chopped
- 1/2 c. minced parsley
- 1 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 bay leaves
- 1/2 teaspoon crushed thyme
- Dash of cayenne
- 1 can (8 ounce.) tomato sauce
- 1 lemon slice
- Warm cooked rice
- Thaw shrimp and cut large ones in half.
- Heat butter; blend in flour and brown, stirring constantly.
- Gradually add in the water and cook, stirring till thick.
- Add in remaining ingredients, except rice; cover and simmer 20 min.
- Remove bay leaves and serve over rice.
- Serves 6.
