Lumpy Bars
- 12 cup butter
- 32 caramels
- 1 (12 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 (18 ounce) yellow cake mix
- 12 cup vegetable oil
- 2 eggs
- 1 (12 ounce) bag mini chocolate chips
- 1 cup butterscotch chips
- In a large saucepan, combine butter, caramels and milk; cook and stir over medium heat until smooth.
- Cool.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the cake mix, oil and eggs; mix well.
- Stir in chips (dough will be stiff).
- Press 3/4 of the mixture into a greased 9 x 13 pan.
- Bake at 350* for 15 minutes.
- Cool on a wire rack for 10 minutes.
- Pour caramel mixture over cooled crust.
- Drop remaining dough over caramel layer.
- Bake at 350* for 25 minutes.
- Cool for 10 minutes and then run a knife around the edge of the pan.
- Cool 40 minutes longer; cover and refrigerate to set the caramels.
- Serve at room temperature.
