Grandma'S Gelatin Fruit Salad
- 2 c. boiling water, divided
- 1 (3 oz.) pkg. lemon gelatin
- 2 c. ice cubes, divided
- 1 (3 oz.) pkg. orange gelatin
- 20 oz. crushed pineapple, drained (reserve liquid)
- 2 c. mini marshmallows
- 3 large sliced bananas
- 1/2 c. finely shredded Cheddar cheese
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 egg, beaten
- 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1 Tbsp. butter
- 1 c. whipped topping
- In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup boiling water and lemon gelatin.
- Add 1 cup ice cubes, stirring until melted.
- Add pineapple.
- Pour into a 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking dish; refrigerate until set.
- Repeat with orange gelatin, remaining water and ice. Stir in marshmallows.
- Pour over lemon layer; refrigerate until set.
