Buried Treasure Cookies Alice Spickard Recipe
- 1 c. Blue Bonnet Margarine
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 c. brown sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 c. peanut butter chips
- 1 1/2 tsp vanilla
- 1 1/4 c. crisp rice cereal
- 2 x Large eggs
- 1 1/4 c. Wheaties cereal crushed
- 1 1/2 c. unbleached white flour
- 1 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 3/4 c. wheat flour
- Cream margarine and sugars.
- Fold in Large eggs and vanilla till light and fluffy.
- Sift flours, soda and salt, and add in to creamed mix.
- Mix well.
- In a separate bowl, heat peanut butter chips in microwave at 20 second intervals stirring at each interval till smooth.
- Stir rice cereal, Wheaties cereal, semi-sweet chocolate chips into melted peanut butter chips till coated.
- Stir cereal mix into dough mix.
- Drop by rounded tsp.
- onto a lightly greased cookie sheet.
- Bake in a preheated 375 degree oven for 10 min.
- Remove to rack to cold.
- Makes approximately 5 dozen cookies.
