Perfect Rice!
- 1.5 C white or brown rice
- 2 C water
- Use exact measurements of a 4:3 ratio of water to rice.
- Use medium sized cook pot with tight fitting lid.
- Ingredients should not fill pot more than 50-75%.
- Bring rice and water to boil on high heat (with no lid).
- As soon as it boils, stir with fork, place lid on pot and lower heat to low.
- Set timer for 25 mins (for white rice) or 50 mins (for brown rice).
- Important: do not change burners or peek into pot before timer rings!
- Remove lid, fluff with fork and place in serving bowl (this will prevent rice from sticking to your pot).
- Optional: Parmesan Rice!
- After rice is cooked, stir in 1/2 C grated Parmesan cheese and 1/4 C fresh parsley while still warm.
- Pairs perfectly with Fresh Shrimp with Lemon and Butter.
- Optional: Cilantro brown rice: Add 1/4 C fresh cilantro prior to serving.
