Spaghetti Dinner
- 1 lb. lean ground beef
- 2 (16 oz.) cans tomatoes
- 1/3 c. tomato ketchup
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 1 small bell pepper, finely chopped
- 1 to 2 stalks celery, finely chopped
- 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1/8 tsp. garlic powder
- 1 Tbsp. margarine or butter
- 1/4 tsp. sugar (optional)
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1 small box spaghetti
- Melt margarine or butter in a heavy skillet and saute onion, bell pepper and celery.
- Add ground beef and stir until beef loses its redness.
- Add tomatoes, ketchup, garlic powder and Worcestershire sauce.
- Cook over low heat, stirring occasionally, for about one hour.
- Additional seasonings may be added if desired:
- such as celery seed, chili powder or oregano.
- Use salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve over cooked spaghetti.
- Serves 4.
