Gourmet Baked Beans
- 4 Tbsp. cider vinegar
- 1 c. undiluted evaporated milk
- 1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
- 1/4 c. sifted flour
- 2 tsp. dry mustard
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 3 Tbsp. molasses
- 1/4 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 2 drops Tabasco
- 2 (16 oz.) cans (about 4 c.) molasses style baked beans
- Grease a 1 1/2-quart casserole dish.
- Pour vinegar into a 1 cup measuring cup for liquids.
- Add enough evaporated milk to measure 1 cup liquid; blend thoroughly.
- Mix together in a bowl brown sugar, flour, dry mustard and salt.
- Add the evaporated milk mixture gradually, blending thoroughly.
- Blend in the molasses, Worcestershire sauce and Tabasco.
- Add the baked beans; mix gently, but thoroughly.
- Turn into casserole dish.
- Bake at 350u0b0 for 35 to 40 minutes, stirring 2 or 3 times during baking. Garnish with onion rings.
- Makes 6 to 8 servings.
