Baking Mix #2, Fat Free (Bisquick Copycat) Recipe
- 4 c. white flour
- 4 c. wheat flour
- 1/2 c. bran (I prefer wheat germ but it contains more fat)
- 2 Tbsp. baking pwdr
- 1 Tbsp. salt
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 2 tsp cream of tartar
- Mix all ingredients very well.
- For every 2 c. mix used add in 1/2 c. fat free mayo...
- THIS REPLACES THE USUAL SHORTENING.
- (You can substitute applesauce, prunes, pureed squash or possibly whatever you prefer to replace the free mayo.)
- This recipe may be made with all wheat flour or possibly any combination.
- The mix works great in any recipe calling for a commercial biscuit/baking mix.
- NOTES : I've been using this recipe for the last year or possibly so and I find which it works very well.
