Butter Brickle Surprise Cookies
- 1/2 cup Land O Lakes Butter, softened
- 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
- 1 Land O Lakes All-Natural Egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup toffee or milk chocolate toffee bits
- 1/4 cup coarse grain sugar
- 24 milk chocolate star candies
- Combine butter and brown sugar in large bowl; beat at medium speed until creamy.
- Add egg and vanilla; continue beating until well mixed.
- Reduce speed to low; add flour, baking powder and salt.
- Beat until well mixed.
- Stir in toffee bits.
- Cover; refrigerate 30 minutes.
- Heat oven to 350F.
- Place coarse grain sugar into small bowl.
- Shape dough into 1 1/4-inch balls.
- Press 1 chocolate candy into each ball; shape dough around candy to completely cover.
- Dip tops of balls in sugar.
- Place 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheets.
- Bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until edges begin to brown.
- Cool 1 minute on cookie sheet; remove to wire cooling rack.
