Coconut Almond Cookies

  1. Heat oven to 350F.
  2. Combine butter, sugar and brown sugar in bowl.
  3. Beat at medium speed, scraping bowl often, until creamy.
  4. Add eggs and almond extract; beat until well mixed.
  5. Add flour and baking soda; beat at low speed until well mixed.
  6. Stir in coconut, almonds and 1/2 cup white baking chips.
  7. Drop mixture by rounded teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets.
  8. Bake 8-11 minutes or until edges are lightly browned.
  9. Cool 1 minute; remove from cookie sheets.
  10. Cool completely.
  11. Place 3/4 cup white baking chips and shortening in bowl.
  12. Microwave, stirring every 30 seconds, 1-2 minutes or until melted.
  13. Drizzle over cooled cookies in crisscross pattern.
