Italian Style Meat Pie
- 1 lb. lean ground beef
- 1 egg
- 1/4 c. minced onion
- 1/2 c. seasoned bread crumbs
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1 1/2 c. small pasta shells
- 1 (15 oz.) jar spaghetti sauce
- 1/3 c. seasoned bread crumbs
- 1/3 c. grated cheese
- Preheat oven to 375u0b0.
- In large bowl, combine beef, egg, onion, 1/2 cup bread crumbs, salt and pepper.
- Mix well.
- Put mixture into a 9-inch pie pan and shape as a crust.
- Bake 12 to 15 minutes.
- Pour off excess grease.
- Meanwhile, prepare pasta according to package.
- Drain well.
- Spoon pasta into baked meat crust; pour sauce evenly over pasta.
- Sprinkle remaining bread crumbs and cheese over pie and return to oven for 10 to 12 minutes.
- Serves 6.
