Eldress Bertha's Applesauce (Cooking Light)

  1. Combine the first 5 ingredients in large saucepan.
  2. Bring to a boil.
  3. Cover and reduce heat.
  4. Simmer for 35 minutes until soft.
  5. Discard cinnamon stick.
  6. Using a potato masher, mash to desired consistency.
  7. Stir in salt and almond extract.
