Sauteed Cabbage and Apples

  1. Peel, core and chop apples.
  2. Melt butter; add apples, cabbage, onions, season all and nutmeg.
  3. Mix well.
  4. Cover and cook over low heat for 20 minutes, stirring frequently.
  5. Combine vinegar, sugar and cayenne; add to cabbage.
  6. Cook 5 minutes longer.
  7. Stir in nuts or sprinkle over the top.
  8. Even better reheated.
