German Sweet Chocolate Pie
- 1 (4 oz.) pkg. Baker's German's sweet chocolate
- 1/4 c. margarine
- 1 2/3 c. evaporated milk
- 1 1/3 c. sugar
- 2 eggs
- 3 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/8 tsp. salt
- 1 deep 9-inch unbaked pie shell or 2 (8-inch) shells
- 1 1/3 c. coconut
- 1/2 c. chopped pecans
- Melt chocolate with margarine over low heat.
- Stir until blended.
- Remove from heat.
- Blend in milk.
- Mix in sugar, cornstarch and salt.
- Beat in eggs and vanilla.
- Blend into chocolate mixture.
- Pour into pie shell(s).
- Combine coconut and nuts.
- Sprinkle over filling.
- Bake at 375u0b0 for 45 minutes. Filling will set as it cools.
- Cut after 4 hours.
- (Cover loosely with foil the last 15 minutes in oven.)
