Red Wine Marinated Steaks
- 800g beef cut into 4 steaks (e.g. t-bone, rump, eye-fillet) Safeway 1 lb For $5.99 thru 02/09
- 1 tablespoon VEGEMITE
- 1/2 cup red wine
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 clove garlic, crushed
- 1/2 teaspoon fresh grated ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon celery seeds
- Place steaks in a single layer in a dish.
- Mix together remaining ingredients and pour over steaks.
- Marinate 2-3 hours or overnight in refrigerator, turning steaks occasionally.
- BBQ or pan fry over moderate heat for 5 -10 minutes each side for medium to well done.
