Gelatin Poke Cake

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Prepare cake batter as directed on package and pour into greased and floured 13-by-9-inch pan.
  3. Bake in oven for 30 to 35 minutes until done.
  4. Cool cake in pan for 15 minutes; prick with fork at half-inch intervals.
  5. Dissolve gelatin in boiling water.
  6. Add cold water and carefully pour over cake.
  7. Chill three to four hours and garnish with whipped topping if desired.
