Sweet Dills(They Sure Taste Good.)

  1. Combine sugar, vinegar and spices in a saucepan.
  2. Bring to a boil, not a hard boil, for 1 minute.
  3. Let cool to warm.
  4. Drain off the brine from the dills and toss away.
  5. Cut dills into slices. Replace in jar.
  6. You can strain out spices or leave them and pour the warm syrup over dills in jar.
  7. Store in refrigerator for 1 week, or use in a few days.
  8. You can let sugar and vinegar dissolve before cooking.
  9. When cooking syrup, take off burner before it comes to hard boil.
  10. The second batch I made with old syrup, just add 2/3 cup vinegar, 1/2 cup sugar and more spices to old syrup.
  11. Cook again; put in new jar of dills.
  12. I buy dills already sliced.
