Fruit Cake Cookies
- 1/2 c. butter
- 1/2 c. brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour (reserve 3/4 c. to coat fruit/nuts)
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp. cloves
- 1/4 tsp. allspice
- 1 1/2 tsp. milk
- 4 tsp. orange juice
- 1/2 lb. candied cherries
- 1/2 lb. candied green pineapple
- 1 lb. dates, cut up
- 1 lb. pecans (about 4 c.), chopped
- Cream butter and sugar.
- Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition.
- Add 3/4 cup flour and soda, a little at a time.
- Combine milk and orange juice and add to flour mixture. Add nuts and fruits which have been coated with the remaining 3/4 cup flour.
- Drop by teaspoonfuls onto greased baking sheet.
- Bake at 350u0b0 for 12 to 15 minutes.
