Frosted Chewies
- 1 c. white sugar
- 1 c. peanut butter
- 1 (6 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 (6 oz.) pkg. butterscotch chips
- 1 c. light corn syrup
- 6 c. Kellogg's Special K cereal
- Place sugar and corn syrup in medium size saucepan; stir to combine.
- Cook over medium heat, stirring frequently, until mixture just boils good.
- Remove from heat; add peanut butter and mix well.
- Add cereal; stir until evenly coated.
- Press mixture evenly and firmly in buttered 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan and cool.
- Melt chocolate and butterscotch chips together in top section of double boiler over hot, not boiling, water or in heavy small saucepan over very low heat, stirring constantly.
- Remove from heat; spread evenly over cereal mixture.
- Let stand in cool place until firm. Cut into 2 x 1-inch pieces.
- Makes 48.
