Easy Baked Apples with a Cinnamon Nut Stuffing
- 2 Apples
- 1/2 Lemon
- 1-78 ounces, weight Butter
- 1 ounces, weight Ground Nuts
- 1 ounces, weight Raisins
- 2 teaspoons Brown Sugar
- 1 Tablespoon Cinnamon
- Wash the apples and cut out the core.
- Either cut a small square shape into the top of the apple, cutting down to halfway.
- Turn the apple over and repeat with a slightly larger square.
- Then simply push out the loose section with your thumb, from the small end to the large end.
- Alternatively, just use an apple corer.
- You can also scoop out the apple if thats your thing.
- Put the apples into an oven dish and pour the lemon juice into the middle of the appleit prevents the apple from going brown and adds a nice fresh lemon taste to the flavour.
- Heat up the butter in a sauce pan until fully melted.
- Meanwhile mix the nuts, raisins, sugar and cinnamon in a bowl and add half the melted butter.
- Stir well.
- Stuff the apples with the butter-nut-raisin-mixture and then pour the rest of the butter over the top.
- Put the dish on the lowest level of a preheated 175 degrees C (350 degrees F) oven and bake for 3540 minutes till the top is golden brown.
- Best served warm, either on its own, with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or with caramel or vanilla sauce.
